Ways For Non-Profits To Use Mobile Technology

There are many ways for non-profits to use mobile technology. If you work at a nonprofit like me then you would surely have had an epiphany moment during the fundraising worldwide for Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. Mobile technology played a paramount role in receiving donations for the survivors in Haiti.
Many people working in non-profits still don’t realize the huge potential to use mobile technology to raise and receive donations. During the Haiti fund raising campaign over 40 million dollars in donations were received through mobile phones. As an example the Red Cross had received over 4 million premium text messages at a value of 10 each. The incredible fact is that 95 percent of these premium text messages were from first time donors.
This is amazing to say the least. The potential to use mobile phones for your nonprofit is nothing less than essential, and by creating a mobile campaign for your nonprofit you can have success in raising funds like never before. The great part is that receiving donations through mobile technology is still fairly new. There are several methods to raise money through mobile phones and people are finding it convenient to donate in this way.
